“My Savannah monitor, Drogon, recently became impacted, this means that he could not make a bowel movement. Impaction can push on the nerves of the lower spine in certain cases which causes them to lose the use of their back legs temporarily(and permanently if left untreated). That was what happened in this situation. Upon discovering that he no longer had the use of his back legs, he was immediately taken to the vet the next day. On the following days, the impaction was cleared. However, he is suffering from severe nerve damage and his tail is slowly dying. In order to stop the damage from spreading, part of his tail must be amputated or the damage will spread up his spine. I have taken him to the vet once already and unfortunately I lack the funds to take him again so I’m reaching out for help.”
