The Fight to Stop SB 1070 Continues
An Arizona federal judge followed the US Supreme Court’s recent ruling on SB 1070 and allowed provision 2(B) to go into effect Tuesday.
Provision 2(B) essentially legalizes racial profiling by granting police officers the right to use “reasonable suspicion” in determining a person’s citizenship status.
Although Governor Brewer released a statement saying laws protecting against racial profiling and discrimination would be respected, the truth is, police officers have already been caught using SB 1070 to intimidate and coerce.
Regardless of what the courts have said, students and community organizations are vowing to continue the fight to completely repeal SB 1070.
We will not comply!

Read ACLU’s Reject Racial Profiling
Coming from AZ it’s MCSO & Glendale PD really. I mean the other PD’s aren’t much better but they have less run ins with racial discrimination.
This literally happened to me and my family while we were driving in AZ. A cop pulled us over and asked if we were all citizens and asked for our ID’s.
