#38: Ollas, or Irrigation Pots
Ollas are a tried-and true form of underground irrigation, employing a loosely-sealed buried clay vessel that leaches water into the surrounding soil. They operate on a similar principle as the Plant Nanny.
Owing the the fact they effuse water under the soil (near the plant’s roots), much less moisture is lost to evaporation when compared to surface watering. They can be filled up as needed, and while they do contain water, they provide a constant source of it to nearby plants.
