In 2005, two American students were on a visit to Scotland. Upon visiting the home of the Loch Ness Monster, they claimed to have found this - what seemed to be a tooth - in the body of a deer by the shore. However, this was all an elaborate hoax. Animal experts identified the object as “the antler of a roe muntjac deer” by the photo. Most people claim that the hoax was a promotion for Steve Alten’s book The Loch.
