AYE
FUCK YEAH
We actually talked about this in my house, and theirs no way to say this without sounding racist so I’m just gonna say it: “no, he can’t be black” I’m a firm believer in sticking with characters. If you want a new character go ahead it’s your company but the same way their will never be a white Falcon or black batman their will never or should never be a black mister clean. You made the character, now stick with it.
You’re right there’s no way to say that without being racist.
But why can’t there be a Black batman? There could he a Black Robin who inherits the mantle….
mod vThere is literally nothing about Batman (or Mister Clean) that precludes them being men of color. Whiteness isn’t an iconic aspect of his character. It’s not an iconic aspect of any white character unless they’re white supremacists.
The Falcon’s identity however is deeply connected to blackness. Do you even know anything bait the Falcon as a character aside from the fact that he’s black, @redhatz ?
Because he’s gone through experiences that no white characters COULD.
I mean, y'all can literally Google this shit. You can Google why your opinions on racebending are racist and rely on arguments that hold no weight whatsoever. This is just ridiculous and I need to know why y'all can’t go and bask in the millions of white characters that already exist…
C'mon now…you can’t really expect me to believe that you and your family’s lives will be so terribly affected by Mister Clean being black. That can’t actually be a problem to y'all unless you’re all racist…
It’s funny that a Black Mister Clean would be controversial, but of course he is. Mister Clean comes from a time when virtually all positive characters were white and whiteness was synonymous with American. Updating him to reflect American culture as it really is, where Black people (and other POC) are normal, scares the shit out of a lot of people.
White people legit irritate me. “There’s no way not to sound racist” because that’s called racism a fictional character can be anything it’s drawn to be. Just say you don’t like black people and go about your business
