gems are totally AI or something similar

ginuwinemom:

we know tht gems are “made”–a big question is by who (originally, besides other gems)??? like, the diamonds? but then who made the diamonds lol? we know gems can be used to power objects, and gem shards can be used to power “soldiers” like frybo who end up out of control, so perhaps a whole gem could be like a “hard drive” for the gem being it becomes–we know gems are “holograms with mass”, which is a very tech-y way of putting wht they are, if they could just say “magical aliens” were tht true. gems probably are not intended to have much of a personality, as they have rigid social structure in place tht does not seem to allow for them to have personal lives/individuality. it seems gems’ personalities are discovered, a reflection of wht the gem takes in from their lived experiences outside this rigid social system (sure, u could argue tht this is totally how human personality works too, but also its definitely how an advanced AI would function). if this is true, perhaps their experiences “rewrite” the info on their gem “hard drive”. fusion might be a combination of the information on each gem involved. and, we know tht rose used “the information from her gem combined with greg’s dna” to make steven–tht sounds like a very tech-y way to put tht, too. the gems make a point to say tht steven is organic which is wht makes him distinct from them, meaning they are not–if they were just aliens, wouldnt they be organisms too, just of a different sort? some might argue tht the gems’ seemingly magical abilities disqualify this theory, but consider wht peridot said in too short to ride abt them “not making gems like they used to anymore” bc of gem homeworld resources dwindling on homeworld–it seems this means tht gems’ powers are a part of their manufacturing process. then we have hard evidence from the show, like the patterns that form on garnet when the gem destabilizer is used on her

or this, which is still very difficult to determine the nature of.

it seems this is a weapon used by the diamonds to end the war once and for all when they believed their opposing forces were mostly diminished, a “nuke” of sorts made of light/sound tht breaks whtever the code is tht allows gems to function properly–“corrupting” them, which sounds like very technological language itself. this leads me to believe tht it definitely was the diamonds who created all other gems, and thts how they know wht needs to be done to damage them. then theres the question of, if this weapon affected all gems, how did the crystal gems survive it? it seems like greg revealed this in the return–rose’s shield–shoutsout to @porl-bird for pointing this line out in relation to the “nuke”. this means tht at the time this tactic was employed, rose, garnet, and pearl were all tht was left of the crystal gems. not too surprising, but wht it probably means is tht most corrupted gems we see are not crystal gems themselves, but homeworld gems left behind after the war, bc it was made very clear in monster reunion tht corruption is damage done by the diamonds. wht is the point of this? if they wanted destruction, then why not just crush the remaining gems? was this just easier than rounding them up? are they so heartless theyd do something so traumatizing for the sake of convenience? was it meant as a method of torture for the traitors, but it ended up only affecting their own who couldnt get away fast enough? was it new technology being tested just like the cluster experiments? god, there is so much more even tht i could say. i love this stupidly complicated show

fffuuuuccckkkkk dude omg I love this holy shit yyyyaaaasssss but also noooo like aghhhhh wtf

“This a photograph taken from the teenager (shirtless guy) named Austin Schafer’s Twitter account, of a kid being tied up and beaten by upper classmen at Columbia High School in Nampa, Idaho.

This is a recent photograph and one where the school’s authorities have not taken action yet. Remember this kid’s name and repost this picture.

The Neanderthal trash who are bullying him deserve to have this picture plastered all over the Internet for prospective college admission offices to see so their career pinnacle can be asking me which kind of soup I want at Olive Garden.

If you’ve been a victim of bullying or know someone who has, please repost.”
